The skill can be raised up to level 4, which allows you to own up to 7 boats.Įach vessel has it own properties, but the slowest ship determines how fast the fleet can travel on the world map. The Sea-king skill is needed to be able to own boats.

While in a port town, you can also select your flagship, which is your primary ship when entering a sea battle, as well as the order in which ships appear in a sea battle. If a boat's condition is not maintained, it can sink during bad weather at sea. From every boat, the pattern and colour of the sail can be customized, as well as the boat itself, if made out of oak. The boats can be made from three different types of woods: ash, pine, or oak, with ash being the worst quality of wood and oak being the best quality. In the campaign, the player gets a Snekkja when finishing the quests in Friese.

There are six different types of boats: Byrding, Knorr, Snekkja, Karvi, Skeid, and Busse.īoats can be obtained by ordering the construction of a boat in any port town by talking to a shipwright, by buying a second-hand boat from a shipwright (in need of repair, more often than not), or sometimes from winning sea battles, with the Looting skill increasing this chance.
